Carols in Willoughby Park a Huge Success - Saturday 10th December 2011
StreetWork would like to thank Willoughby City Council for supporting the Carols in the Park held on Saturday 10 December at Willoughby Park. We were lucky enough to enjoy singing and a great turn out after one of Sydney's wetest weeks in over 10 years. This was a fun, family-friendly community event, featuring Willoughby Symphony Choir and Willoughby Band performing popular and classic Christmas favourites such as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Silent Night. The highlight for our young people was seeing Santa arrive and even managed to sing a few classics himself. For more great local events in 2012, go to the Willoughby Council website or click here

StreetWork CEO hosts "Volatile decision making debate"
On the 28th November, Andrew chaired this panel debate led by Dave Pendleton from the ABC, Mike Homden from the Thin Blue line and Kerry McGoldrick from Woolworths. Youth Worker, Alistair Webster found the debate interesting, educational and directly relevant noting it helps to understand crisis management, critical decision making in the context of working with the NSW Police.
Andrew founded the Risk Discussion Group in early 2010 and the group now boasts over 160 professional and senior members. The discussion group provides an opportunity for participants to network with fellow workers, associates and agencies across all government and industry sectors. The group aims to enhance members technical and business skills and learn from leading speakers and organisations on contemporary risk and governance issues. Topics regularly covered are contemporary and include: corporate governance, ethics, risk, leadership, operations, performance, reputational risk and operational risk. If you wish to join, contact Risk Group Treasurer Mr Frank Chong; frank.chong@suncorp.com.au or go to CPA Australia website;
