YOUTH CASE WORKER - FULL TIME/PART TIME

StreetWork is a for-purpose, community based organisation that focuses on targeted early intervention and prevention strategies for 'at risk' young people. It aims to help 'at risk' young people aged between 11 - 18 affected by crime, violence, destructive relationships, rejections and isolation, homelessness, school disengagement, poor employment opportunities and alcohol and substance abuse to turn their lives around. About the Role

StreetWork is currently recruiting a Youth Case Worker (full-time or part-time) position and in this position you will be required to engage with young people to assist them to make more positive and fulfilling choices through activities to motivate, positive role modelling, mentoring and providing practical support.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• conduct assessments and develop, monitor and implement case management plans for assigned young people which will include StreetWork’s intensive mentoring program; • provide practical assistance to meet the key needs of young people; • participate in weekly outreach programs to identify youth at risk

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have:

• a strong background and/or relevant qualifications in at least one of the following disciplines - youth work/services, youth development, community work/services, social work, psychology or mental health • proven ability to engage with young people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds • experience networking with multi-disciplinary services and agencies • strong counselling and collaborative skills • well-developed problem solving skills, interpersonal and mentoring skills including strong verbal and written communication skills • a current driver’s licence • personal qualities including honesty, integrity and professionalism as well as a respect for the vision and values of StreetWork
