StreetWork

StreetWork is a Sydney based charity helping young people aged between 11 and 18 who are "at risk".

Our aim is to break the sad cycle of crime, violence, destructive family relationships, rejection and isolation, learning difficulties, poor employment opportunities and substance abuse.

The end result is we get their young lives back on track.

Happy New Year from StreetWork!

This is the time of year where we are able to reflect on the year, our successes and our areas of growth for the coming year, and thank our generous and kind community partners such as you who allow us to thrive and encourage us in our work.  We are thankful for the young people who return the blessings, like the young man who drove over to our office looking for his former Youth Worker in his company vehicle, with a solid job and a smile on his face, or the young mum who found housing for herself and her baby after a long search, even for the young man who has maintained his sobriety and returned to school. Our team, Joel, Penny, Nancy, Derek, Alistair, Charles, Tim, Amber, and Andrew have all been working hard to help young people get lives back on track. Our primary objective is to meet these young people where they are and give them hope for the future. This year, StreetWork has worked with over 100 young people in our many programs. We are committed to building on these accomplishments, and would not be able to continue without your support and kindness to our team and our young people.

One of the cornerstones of our success has been our ability to build partnerships. As a leader in this community, your support is invaluable. We look forward to your continued support and partnership in the year to come.

We wish you warm blessings this season and throughout the year.

With Love and Appreciation.

Thank you to all who attended the StreetWork Annual Dinner !

We had a great night filled with inspiration and stories from Mark Kerry, our team, and our founder Peter Hobbs. Thank you to all of the generous donors who continue to support us!

StreetWork’s 30th Birthday Celebration was a smash hit!

Thank you to all of our generous sponsors, attendees, and volunteers for making the night a HUGE success! We were delighted to have Mark Ella talk about his journey to success and his interest in StreetWork, our very own Tim Sheerman talk about his work with young people and how he has seen young lives turned around, as well as some of our corporate sponsors talk about ways they are involved in supporting StreetWork’s mission and vision. We had many generous donations, and are excited for the partnerships built which will contribute to StreetWork’s ability to connect with young people in need of care and support in the difficult seasons of their lives.  We hope these partnerships will sustain us for at least the next 30 years!

The “at risk” young people we serve face a variety of factors including lack of family support, domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and peer pressure. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, ages 13-15 are some of the most formative years, where having positive adult connections with people such as our Youth Workers and volunteers can make all the difference.

With the generous support of people like you, we will be able to help many of these families and individuals not only to meet essential daily needs, but to work toward a brighter future with our Kickstart mentoring program, outreach in schools, streets, and shopping malls, police advocacy services for young people who have been arrested, court support services, camps for time away from negative influences, and parent or carer support groups. Please continue to check our website, as we will be posting opportunities for volunteers to assist with advocacy, events, donations, BBQ's, and much more!

Thank you again, and we look forward to your continued support.
