Our CPR Refresher morning | StreetWork

StreetWork staff refreshed their CPR training. Staying prepared saves lives - CPR doubles survival chances in emergencies. A skill worth learning.

At Streetwork it's mandatory for staff to have their CPR training refreshed every year and after completing the online training modules and then practicing our technique, we are all now up to date.

Why is CPR training important? The majority of sudden cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital so medical staff aren't at hand to take responsibility. Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on someone who has suffered an Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest can double the chance of the person surviving, so resuscitation is a skill worth learning.

YOUNG PERSON CAPTURES ZOMBIE ON VIDEO. STREETWORK

StreetWork mentors empower youth by nurturing their passions! Watch a young person's creative zombie video, made with support from Casual Films.

One of the first things our Streetwork youth caseworkers do when a vulnerable young person joins our mentoring program is to find out their interests or hobbies.  It might be graffiti art, rap music, songwriting, photography, or movies.  The trick is finding it.  Once you validate a young person's interest you can start to speak their language and let them know you care about them as a unique person.

We recently had a young person who was interested in video content production. Our talented agency - Casual Films - supported him (and his talented Zombie youth caseworker!) - to create and edit this video.
